Policies & Procedures

Safety in the Workplace

In order for your staff to understand their roles in your business, you most likely have a policy or procedure for them to complete their job. HINT: If you don't,  that’s actually a psychosocial risk.  A Safety Management System with Policies and procedures for safety allow everyone to understand their input on safety in the workplace and ensure that, should hazards arise, there is a means by which workers can raise issues.

The complexity and number of policies and procedures will differ in each business and industry depending on complexity and risk; however, they should all be managed under a safety management system which follows all of the safe systems of work outlined in Section 19 of the WHS Act 2011. If this all sounds too complex, give us a call.

Our Process

We will assist you in determining the necessary Policies and Procedures and your controls in your safety management system by:

Step 1

Having a meeting on site or via video call if appropriate.

Step 2

Determining the amount of work required for you to fulfil your duties under Section 19 of the Act and as Officers under Section 27.

Consultation

Consultation with the workforce means you know your controls are credible, your P&Ps are understood, and that the workforce is willing to comply. If you don’t already have a Health and Safety Representative (HSR) or committee of HSRs if your business size requires it, we can facilitate this process too!
